About Samsung Medical Center

Samsung Medical Center is a tertiary referral hospital in Gangnam District, Seoul, South Korea, operated by the Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation. It opened on 9 November 1994 and has served as a teaching hospital of Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine since 1997. As of 31 December 2024, the hospital operated 1,766 beds and employed 7,929 staff, including 915 physicians and 3,337 nurses. Its major clinical institutes include the Samsung Comprehensive Cancer Center, opened in 2008, and the Heart Vascular Stroke Institute, established in 2014.
